A Preggo Suprise!

This is a sexy yet disturbing ad for the Brazilian non-alcoholic beer Nova Schin. The first thing you notice about this ad is that there is a pregnant woman holding this beer. She appears to be “cheersing” or toasting to someone or something with the beer in hand.  You also realize she’s an attractive and "hot" woman that clearly has no shame in showing off her body. Then it dons on you, she is drinking a beer. The soon to be mom cradles her baby bump suggesting a connection and love for the baby. It could be seen as a sort of protection for the baby. Mom doing this says to the audience, "Wow she loves and cares for her baby and she can also enjoy a great beer!" This ad  suggest that this beer is just as satisfying as a regular beer and can't be that unhealthy for you since these ladies are pregnant and look this great. They are proudly showing their tummies in bare midriffs and bikinis and complete the look with cut off jeans and bikini boy shorts. This ad probably appeals to the men with wives or pregnant significant others. It says to them that she can still enjoy a great time, bear his child, and look like a supermodel while doing it all. This ad says to women, “Why not enjoy yourself when you're a mother? Being pregnant does not stop the party!” This ad claims to have a satisfying non- alcoholic beer that even the most unexpecting ( or expecting) person can enjoy! Aside from thinking this ad was just a complete fabrication of real life and a great use of photo shop, it did its job by grabbing my attention, and gave me hope that I can still enjoy a delicious beer while I am pregnant!

Dinners at 8

There is no thought when asked if I would have someone over for dinner or take them out. Anyone who is anyone to me will be spoiled at my house during dinner and definitely no one leaves hungry. Mr. Tsuyuki I would absolutely cook dinner for you, rather than take you out.

There are many foods that come to mind to make for a guest that comes to my house. I don’t have a specific dinner meal or meal I make for my guest. The meals I prepare depends on who is coming over and what the occasion was. If you were to come over for a random dinner on a random day I would make a wide spread of food I would hope you would enjoy.

When you arrived, you would be offered a drink. We have different types of drinks at our home but usually have wine with dinner. We would begin our meal with an appetizer. A spicy barbecue shrimp would be the one of choice. I take 17/20 ct shrimp, sauté and simmer them in a pan with butter, lemon, crispy bacon, various barbecue spices, shallots and cabernet. Delicious.

We would then have my boyfriend and my favorite salad, a simple caeser. Fresh romaine lettuce, creamy caeser dressing, freshly grated parmesan cheese and of course, lots of fresh cracked pepper. We would move on to a perfectly grilled steak, my boyfriend’s contribution to the meal, served with garlic and pepper asparagus, homemade Mac and cheese that is creamy on the inside and crunchy from breadcrumbs and panko breading on the outside, and of course, sweet cornbread.

For dessert is my absolute favorite thing in the world, Key Lime Pie. Fresh graham cracker crust, tart center and perfectly hand-whipped cream are the greatest end to any meal, day, or even life!!

Cooking to me is a relief from my day. I get home from a long day and think how can I make this day better? Cook something new! I learned to cook from my aunt and grandmother and there are foods that I cannot help but repeat. Mac and cheese, cornbread, yams, greens, and pecan pie are foods I cannot live long without! I hope the meal I have decided to make for you have gotten your taste buds ready for a burst of flavor in every direction!
